Meet Adele

Hi, I’m Adele, a former professional Steeplechase jockey with more than 45 years of equestrian experience. Horses have shaped my entire life, taking me around the world to compete, train and build lifelong connections.

After meeting my husband in Japan and raising our three children, we settled in the breathtaking Northland landscape in 2007. It was here, riding through bush and along the shores of Bream Bay, that I truly found my happy place.

In 2016, I founded Waipu Horse Adventures to share that feeling with others. My vision was simple: create a safe, welcoming space where beginners and intermediate riders alike could experience the freedom, serenity and exhilaration of trekking on horseback.

Every trek is guided with genuine care, deep horse knowledge and a commitment to matching each guest with the perfect horse. Whether you’re seeking adventure, connection or simply time to breathe, I can’t wait to share our special corner of paradise with you.
